Year 12 Modern - Versailles

Just to get started, here are some links to information on the Versailles Treaty:

http://www.firstworldwar.com/source/versailles.htm - Detailed analysis of the treaty
http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/treaty_of_versailles.htm - Basic description of all the main issues

Pay special attention to this clause, the so-called 'War Guilt Clause':

Article 231. The Allied and Associated Governments affirm and Germany accepts the responsibility of Germany and her allies for causing all the loss and damage to which the Allied and Associated Governments and their nationals have been subjected as a consequence of the war imposed upon them by the aggression of Germany and her allies.
Here is a map showing some of the territorial consequences of the treaty (found at http://www.johndclare.net/peace_treaties4.htm):

Welcome back!

Welcome back to school for 2009! Hopefully in the next few weeks this blog will be up and running, and will enable you to access extra resources for homework or for catching up with missed work. I will aim to put any electronic resources (Powerpoints, worksheets, URLs) up every couple of weeks or so. Feel free to comment or to write me a message via the blog. You can even send me suggestions for relevant websites you think should be added to the blog.

Hope this resource helps you with your study this year,

Mr G
